PHOTOGRAPHY

Introduction

The Photography Module handles all photographs to be displayed by the system. These include learner, staff and schoolhouse flag/emblem photos.

Features

  • Learner and staff photos
  • Easy drag and drop assignment of photos
  • Photos are not saved to database. This keeps down the size of the database
  • Photos are pulled directly from the school's file server so the same photos can be shared with other applications
  • Contextual display of learner or staff photos
  • Supported formats: jpg/jpeg and bmp

Photo Types

The following formats are supported:

  • jpg / jpeg (strongly recommended)
  • bmp

Location

Learner and staff photos are typically placed in appropriate folders on the school server, where all learners are in one single folder and all staff in another.

Photo Names

When taking the learner or staff member’s picture, be sure to name it after the person, say surname followed by first name. Examples:

  • BLOGGS Joe.jpg
  • SMITH John.jpg

When you are confronted with an enormous list of photos, you can then easily find the photo, since it will be in alphabetical order.

Photo Folder

In order to assign a photo to a person, you need to first say which folder contains the photos. This is called the photo folder. TS School then remembers this folder, so that whenever you want to go and assign more photos, the photos within this folder are immediately shown. You can then drag and drop them onto the right people.

Photo Assignment

The Photo screen puts a photo to a name. The following can have photos:

  • Learners
  • Staff
  • Schoolhouses

Photos are assigned by locating the photo and dragging and dropping it onto the relevant learner, staff member or schoolhouse. To share workload, you might want to have all class administrators assign only the photos of the learners they administer.
