Setting up Dormitories
In order to work with dormitories, they first need to be set up. Use the Dormitories screen for this.
Dormitories have of the following elements:
- Name -
Give the dormitory a unique name (e.g. 101).
- Description -
Give the dormitory an apt description (e.g. Dorm 101).
- Venue -
Select the location of the dormitory.
- Grade -
Select the dormitory's age group.
- Available Learners -
All learners of a particular age group are displayed in the Available Learners list box for selection. They can be simply dragged and dropped into dorm bed positions. You can change the bed locations of your learners. Moving one learner onto another will simply swap the learners. If you wish to drop dorm members, simply drag the member back onto the Available Learners list box.
- Staff -
A member of staff can be selected to administer the dorm. Although dormitories typically have only one staff member, TS School allows for more.
- Calendar -
Calendar events can be planned for at this stage (or later on when working with the dorm itself).
Working with Dormitories
If you are a dormitory staff user you can go through to your dorm. If you have more than one dorm, you must first select which dorm you want to work with, otherwise your one and only dorm will automatically be shown. You can do the following:
- Bed Positions -
You can change the bed positions of your dorm members. Moving one learner onto another will simply swap the learners. If you wish to add or drop dorm members, you need to go back to the Setup Dormitories screen.
